Pontio is expected to launch in mid-November, as a mobile app for Bucharest and Ilfov. Until then nothing can be booked. If you need a service, leave your email and we will tell you first. If you offer a service, preregister now on the website.
What is preregistration, and who is it for?
Preregistration is for professionals only. On the website you fill in your services and prices, the area you work in and your availability, then set a password or continue with Google. At launch you download the app and sign in with the same account, and your profile is already there. We look at preregistered profiles first, and a profile becomes visible to customers only after approval. As a PFA or SRL you leave your company details now, and full sign-up likely opens after launch.
Do I need to download anything now?
No — the app is not available yet. Customers only leave their email, and professionals preregister on the website. At launch, both download the same app, and each sees the steps for their own role.
Which services are available at launch?
We start with three categories: home cleaning, pet care (pet sitting with home visits, and dog walks, no overnight stays) and a handyman for small repairs (furniture assembly and small fixes, no electrical, gas or plumbing work). More categories, such as plumbers or babysitters, come after launch.
Where is Pontio launching first?
Pontio launches in Bucharest and Ilfov county first. We will expand to more of Romania as more professionals join and local coverage grows.
How do prices work? Do I know the price before booking?
Professionals set their own prices and show them on each service, so you see the price before you send a request. Any later price change needs your agreement.
Is Pontio free? How does Pontio make money?
Joining and using Pontio is free, and there is no Pontio fee in the first phase — you pay the professional directly, and professionals keep what they charge. Later, Pontio may introduce a platform fee for completed bookings, per category; any fee will always be shown clearly before you confirm a booking.
How do I pay the professional?
At launch you pay the professional directly, in whatever way you agree between you. Pontio does not collect or process payments on their behalf. You see the price of the service in the app before you send a request.
How do reviews work on Pontio?
A review can only be left after a completed booking through Pontio — no anonymous or paid reviews. That means ratings build up from real appointments after launch, and professionals can reply publicly to the reviews they receive.
Who is responsible for the service — Pontio or the professional?
Pontio is the platform that connects you: we check profiles are complete before they go live and keep booking and communication in one place. The service contract is directly between you and the professional, who is responsible for the work itself. If something goes wrong, you can report it to the Pontio team from the app.
